European release date of Until Dawn leaked by German retailers?

Sony’s PS4 exclusive Until Dawn had originally been set for a PS3 release with move support. Coming from Supermassive Games, we had been led to believe that the game would be releasing in Summer 2015 that we had learnt at the Video Games Award Ceremony held in the month of December. However, if the German retailers online are correct, we may be able to enjoy the game a lot earlier than many have expected.

According to NeoGAF, last night for a short amount of time, the release date for Until Dawn was shown as June 24 on Amazon.de. This may have been a mistake but other German retailers like MediaMarkt and Spielegrotte, along with some other European retailers, had the same listing as well. While some of these retailers have removed the date, others still show 24th June as the release date.

This would be a good time for the game as E3’s hype machine could get a lot of fans worked up just before the release. June 24th will most probably not be the date of release in the US as it is a Wednesday but, a release during that week seems likely. This release would be similar to the release of games like The Last of Us and The Last of Us Remastered that had been released as exclusive for the PlayStation over the last two years.

It would not be right to dismiss the date gave by the retailers as we have seen that over the past few years these dates have proven to be right. So, keep your fingers crossed and hope an early release.
