Fry Electronics cancels a few pre-orders for Majora's Mask New 3DS XL

It seems that retailers Fry Electronics are cancelling a few pre-orders for the Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL console due to limited stock availability.

A recent post by a user on the gaming site NeoGAF reveals that the retailer is in fact cancelling a few pre-orders for Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL. The user pre-ordered the limited edition console earlier this month only to have it cancelled due to limited quantities.

Here’s what was transcribed in the email by Fry Electronics:

“We regret to inform you that we have had to cancel your recent pre-order for the Nintendo 3DS XL Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Limited Edition. The viral popularity of this product exceeded the quantities made available to Fry’s by the manufacturer. As a result, we are unable to fulfill all of the pre-orders received. If Nintendo decides to increase our allocation for this limited edition product, we will contact you to give you the opportunity to purchase this product.”

A few more users have reportedly received the email as well. One user, in particular, has uploaded an image onto Dropbox which clearly shows that the order for the console has been cancelled. Nintendo should really consider increasing its stocks in the US, as it’s pretty disappointing for gamers who pre-order the console only to have it cancelled at the last minute.

Best Buy also seems to be facing a similar issue and have also cancelled a number or orders. The limited edition Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL was revealed at Nintendo Direct last month and has been in high demand since, with even big retailers like Best Buy and GameStop running out of stocks.
