New Nintendo 3DS makes a strong debut during Western Launch week

Players in the US only received the XL version of the New Nintendo 3DS whereas players across Europe received both the XL and regular versions of the New Nintendo 3DS. Somewhere around 335,000 units of the New Nintendo 3DS were sold by Nintendo during the launch week.

According to a report by IGN , the New Nintendo 3DS received a very strong debut in the West. This is huge number for Nintendo especially after the struggles they faced over the last few years. The two games that have been launched alongside this system got their share of success where Majora’s Mask 3D surpassed the launch period record of 2013’s A Link Between Worlds. Majora’s Mask 3D sold 340,000 copies in the US and 230,000 in Europe as compared to A Link Between Worlds’ 180,000 and 150,000. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate also out sold its predecessor by selling 110,000copies as compared to the 40,000 that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate sold.
