Player of the match: Lockie Ferguson
So far in the 10 games, the teams batting first now have won 3 games. Early days of the tournament and it will be interesting what other twists and turns will be present in this edition of the IPL. That's all we have from this match as I, Lavil Saldanha and my colleague, Bala take your leave. Do check Sportskeeda for the latest match commentaries and sports news. Toodles for now as we look to catch up with you soon. SEE YA!
Lockie Ferguson (man of the match for his spell of 4/28 in 4 overs): It was an excellent night for me, made easier by all the other guys who shared the ball with me. It is great to have such a good bowling attack and also helps to spread calmness in the group. There was pressure coming in from both ends and we just wanted to counter it back. There was some bounce in the surface and I was looking to consistently hit the hard length. It was an all-around performance from the bowling unit. Hardik as a captain always makes you feel confident and believes in your skills
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans): Very happy with all the performances from the boys coming along and chipping in at the vital moments. It is a luxury to have such a bowling attack, we felt we were 10-15 runs short with the bat in hand but with the bowling attack, we can fancy ourselves. Lockie's over was a game-changing one. Varun Aaron felt a little something in his groin and that is why we had to introduce Shankar and Tewatia into the attack. Shubman played an excellent knock today and this is the version of him we like to see
Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals): That total was not so big. We could have batted better. We lost two wickets in the powerplay and then three wickets in the middle overs. We can't keep losing that many wickets every time. (On choosing to field first) Depending on weather conditions. We are not thinking about that now. We have one game at Mumbai now. We will think about it when we have to come back here. (Ricky Ponting) He has been amazing. It's not easy when you are on the losing side, it's heartbreaking. It's about creating a good environment to keep the players performing.
Gujarat Titans win the match by 14 runs

Rishabh Pant 43(29) | Lalit Yadav 25(22)
Lockie Ferguson (4-0-28-4) | Mohammed Shami (4-0-30-2)

An excellent win for the Gujarat Titans as they start off their maiden IPL campaign with 2 wins in 2 matches. The chase didn't start off on the right note as the Capitals lost the wicket of Seifert early in the powerplay, followed by the double strike of Lockie Ferguson, who accounted for the wickets of Mandeep Singh and Prithvi Shaw. Delhi once again lost 3 wickets in the powerplay and were down in dumps when they were 43/3 after 6 overs.

Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav then joined forces and the duo struck back at the Titans, stitching together a 50 run stand and stabilizing things. A controversial run out of Lalit Yadav kind of broke the back of the chase as after his wicket, the Capitals collapsed like a house of cards. Pant carried on his fireworks initially, but then a mistimed shot led to him losing his wicket. Rovman Powell played a crucial knock towards the end but that wasn't enough as the batters lacked support and Delhi ended on 157/9 after their 20 overs.

It was an excellent bowling effort from the Titans who have an excellent bowling attack at their disposal. Lockie Ferguson stole the thunder today as he picked up 4 wickets in the match. He was aided by Mohammed Shami who picked up 2 wickets and Hardik and Rashid Khan who picked up a wicket each. They say the fielding should contribute with a wicket and they had an excellent run out, courtesy of some teamwork by Vijay Shankar and Abhinav Manohar. Let's now see what the captains and the man of the match have to say about the game that unfolded ahead of us
