So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Dwijesh Reddy. Do stay tuned to Sportskeeda's coverage of a lot more matches in the future
Trent Boult was named as the 'Player of the Match' for producing figures of 4-0-17-3
Kane Williamson| Winning captain: Yeah, a strong performance from us. We knew how dangerous Afghanistan are. We did well to restrict them to a below-par total. It was also necessary to keep the necessary threats out while chasing. It is a challenge to adjust to the conditions in three different venues. We knew coming here, sometimes during the day games, we have to set the tone on the park. England are a very strong side. It is important to keep learning from what we have done earlier
Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan captain): We didn't start well with early wickets falling. We tried to steady the ship but didn't finish well. We aimed for 150-160 on that surface. The bowling side was strong on our end but the total wasn't great. We play a lot in the UAE, in general we have played well in this tournament. We will take the positives and work on our shortcomings in the future matches.
So, that is it. New Zealand advance to the semi-final comfortably with eight wickets and 11 balls remaining. So, this means that India and Afghanistan have made a group-stage exit.

A target of 125 was never going to be enough and New Zealand proved that in a professional manner. The Kiwi openers, Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell got off to a quick start before the latter was caught behind off Mujeeb ur Rahman's bowling in the 4th over. That breakthrough didn't help Afghanistan get into the game big time as Guptill and Kane Williamson played sensibly for a while.

It was only an ambitious slog-sweep attempt that brought about Afghanistan's downfall as Rashid Khan castled the stumps in the 9th over. However, yet again, Williamson and Devon Conway played the situation calmly even as Rashid Khan and Hamid Hassan bowled some economical overs. In the end, Conway eventually accelerated with some sweeps and reverse-sweeps as New Zealand cruised home
19.0
18.1 Hamid Hassan to Devon Conway, NEW ZEALAND ARE INTO THE SEMIS! Conway seals the deal with a stoic defensive stroke down to long-on for a single. Hugs all around in the NZ camp, who have been the better side today
