Once again, a reminder if you haven't come across it yet. The ODI series has been postponed to June 2022 after the COVID outbreak in the West Indian squad. Pakistan receive the T20 trophy with their clean sweep tonight. As is the norm, Babar hands the trophy to the most inexperienced member of the squad, Shahnawaz Dahani. Wasim and the other youngsters are in and around, of course. All smiles there with Pakistan wrapping up their historic year in T20Is with a win.

Babar Azam (Pakistan captain): Our plan was to play according to the situation. Rizwan and I wanted to take it till the end and carry the momentum until the end. The boys performed really well in the match. Shaheen and Haris in the first two games. Dahani, Wasim and Hasnain in this game. Our bench was ready for the chances we gave them and that's really pleasing for me as a captain. T20 is a tough game, the runs keep coming and 200 is breached more often than not now. We are preparing for the World Cup. Full credit goes to the team. The kind of form Rizwan is in and the way he has established himself, the youngsters can learn so much for him.

Nicholas Pooran (West Indies captain): I felt like the last two overs, we lost some momentum. Pakistan bowled brilliantly and bowled wonderfully at the back end. We were probably 20 short. It was pretty tough with the virus. Most of us didn't get much sleep last night. I'm really proud of the guys for them to come out and putting in such a good performance today. We'll take a lot of positives out of this series. We went from strength to strength against a quality side. This is a special group of guys here that competed throughout and we are very proud of them tonight.

Mohammad Rizwan is the Player of the Match and the Player of the Series: Chasing 200 is always a big target in T20s. Our coach told us to use the powerplays better than the West Indians. Once we did that, it was much easier. I haven't looked back at my year. I just keep looking to do my best match per match and the rest is god's grace. I like playing through the leg side. I practice all these shots, pull, sweep and all. The rewards are there to see.

It's a clean sweep for the hosts then and the scoreline does justice to the performances they've put in this series. Against an injury and covid-stricken West Indian side, they've commanded their authority to complete a dominant display throughout the three matches.

Chasing a target of 208 is never an easy one to chase down, regardless of the conditions, but Pakistan made it look like a walk in the park. Babar and Rizwan did most of the damage upfront to 158-run stand to set the platform, while Fakhar and Asif Ali provided the finishing touches to seal the deal.

This is Pakistan's 20th T20I win in 2021, which tells you all you need to know really. The opening partnership alongside their dominant bowling has laid the platform for them to approach this format in their own manner, which has been very successful for them in recent times.

As for the West Indies, their young squad will have plenty of learnings to take from this contest. The likes of Brandon King and Shamarh Brooks were impressive in the batting department. The bowling will have more experience to take rather than notable performances, but the likes of Odean Smith, Dominic Drakes and Rovman Powell showed some promise for what the future might hold for the Windies.
