That was a surprisingly fascinating match as humble Leganes gave Real Madrid the fright of their lives with a superb display of fesity pressing and non-stop attacking... but Madrid's professionalism and superior quality in the attacking third sees them walk away with three points.

91' Mariano almost bullies his way through the Leganes defence, but Mantovani holds strong as the last man and stops the youngster in his tracks. Leganes counter, but Samuel Garcia's pass to Luciano is overcooked.

87' Machis outstrips Nacho for pure pace... and the Madrid defender goes into the book for taking him out.

88' Herrerin heads the ball to Vazquez as he makes an absolute hash of a clearance.. the young Madrid forward does superbly to skip past two Leganes men, but Herrerin atones for his mistake with a superb save

87' Leganes are still pressing, but it's still pass-pass-pass from Madrid... till Isco dawdles on the ball and Luciano wins a freekick... Madrid, though, win the ball back...

86' Madrid are going for the Barca way of closing out the game here - death by a thousand passes.

85' Asensio is racing through on goal as he is pulled back blatantly by Unai Bustinza... yellow forr the big Leganes man. Isco swing sit into the far post and Herrerin almost makes an absolute hash of it... it's only a corner, though.

81' OOOOO! Asensio curls a lovely little ball in that Mariano is just a few inches away from converting (who had replaced Morata a couple of minutes ago, I neglected to mention!)

80' Luciano is in acres of space smack bang in the middle of the pitch, but then chooses the wrong option and passes the ball straight back to Ramos.

79' The Argentine comes haring back at Madrid and skins Marcelo before smashing a shot that brings out a great save from Navas. Samu Garcia sends it right back, but Bustinaza has a wild hack at it and it's Madrid's ball. Just as Leganes see a glimmer of hope, Zidane withdraws Kovacic and brings on Luka Modric.

78' Szymonovski is not giving up just yet and he wins a corner, but his delivery is straight at Keylor Navas....

77' Nothing of note is happening on the field, as even the crowd resigns itself to its fate... or maybe not

75' Asensio finds Marcelo doing what he does best - overlap - but his cross into the box is easily cut out

74' This is much more professional from Madrid. They are killing the game expertly here as they pass the ball around with calm nonchalance.

72' James is furious with life as he punches the leganes away dugout in pure frustration. Ouch! Meanwhile, on the pitch, Bustinza sends a curler into the box but it's too powerfully hit for any of his teammates

71' Luciano tries a shot from a ridiculous distance, at a ridiculous angle. He should not have. Meanwhile. Zizou takes off James and sends on Isco.

70' Marcelo almost creates all sorts of trouble for Nacho by fizzing a strange square ball to his centre back, but the Spaniard does well to see off Luciano's pressure and work the ball to safety

68' Szymonovski swings in a superb cross that Ramos does exceptionally well to keep away from a charging Samuel Garcia.

67' Nacho gets penalised for deliberate handball as Madrid stop a Leganes counter... again, how is that not a yellow?

66' OW OW OW! Asensio slips in Lucas Vazquez who, despite losing his footing, does superbly to skip past Mantovani, but his square ball into the box is behind everyone in black! UFF!!

65' A magnificient challenge from Rico sees a Vazquez counter nipped at the bid - Leganes have switched from a 5-4-1 to almost a 4-3-3.

64' Former Real Madrid youth team product Bueno comes on for Gabriel Pires - the power of Gabriel is traded for a bit of guile here.. great spirit from Leganes.

63' James is hobbling around, and that must worry Zidane a touch. Meanwhile, a loose Siovas pass to Rico means Madrid have possession.

62' Perez dusts himself up and pings a long hard ball at Mantovani, but Ramos is covering his fellow captain and heads it clear. Leganes are still unawed, and are still pushing for a third here.

61' the Colombian's cross is headed away, but Real madrid recovers possession... not for long though as Vazquez goes through the back of a leaping Ruben Perez.

60' Real Madrid's defence and midfield look a tad disjointed - but their forwards have brought their A Game. Vazquez wins a freekick from a nothing position, and James can curl another one in.

57' Gabriel Pires gets into the book for not standing the requisite ten yards away from Ramos as he got ready to take a kick. The crowd, and the home side, are thoroughly unamused.

55' Gabriel Pires takes it... and it's rubbish.

54' OOO! Leganes have a freekick just outside the Real Madrid box - Szymonovski will fancy it! How Ramos does not have a yellow I'll never know - the man knocked Luciano off his stride with a powerful arm across the Leganes' forward's neck. Dangerous, dangerous play that.

53' Leganes make a substitution, and Tito is off for Samuel Garcia..... OH MY! He gets a chance with his first touch - Luciano sneeks around a sleeping Casemiro and pulls it back tot he substitute, who curls an awful effort well wide.

52' But that's just defensively... going forward they are still menacing! James releases Vazquez into the box, and Madrid have a corner - but it's punched away commandingly by Herrerin... the ball is in Madrid hands before James sends one sailing all the way over to the Bernabeu.

51' Leganes are pressing fiercely here. They may be 2 down to Real Madrid, but they are not giving up any hope! Szymonovski almost, almooooost, robs Nacho inside the Madrid box ... the heavy favourites look utterly rattled here!

50' Madrid go rampaging forward, but Vazquez gets his shooting radar all in a muddle.

49' or is it? What are Real Madrid doing! They got to sleep and Tito wins a corner, which is utter rubbish. After many excellent deliveries in the first half, Szymonovski wasted that one!

James scoops a lovely delivery into the box and Morata absolutely smashes it into the net with a great header. That's 4-2, and a perfect start to the second half for Real Madrid. The momentum has been sucked out of Leganes' comebac....

the Game looked to be petering out to nothingness after Real Madrid raced into an early 3--0 lead, but an inspired Leganes comeback saw them grab two goals.... it's all set for a brilliant second half!!

45' James tries to play in Morata - but Bustinza holds his positionand intercepts the ball. Szymonovski does superbly to overpowers Danilo and smashes a cross to Bustinza who hammers a shot straight at Navas.

43' This is rabidly end-to-end now!

42' FREE HEADER FOR GABRIEL! But the midfielder nods a meek header into the hands of Navas. Asensio then breaks forward and releases Danilo with a superb pass - but the Brazilian just can't get a powerful enough shot away.

41' Marcelo and Navas get into all sorts of bother and the Costa Rican slices it away for a corner. The cucumber farmers are absolutely loving it!

40' James tries to wriggle his way into the box, but the ref's already called it offside. Wrongly as it turns out.

39' OW! OW! WHAT A SAVE HERRERIN! Asensio swings in a lovely ball that Vazquez meets with a superb first-time volley that is destined to the bottom right corner before the Leganes keeper gets a strong hand on it. SUPERB SAVE!

38' Tito careens into the box and hurls one in, but Navas does well to claim. Leganes are geeling it in their bones now.
