The New York Giants drafted Abdul Jabar Carter as the third pick in round one in the 2025 NFL draft. He is a defensive end and played the 2024 season as a junior for the Penn State Nittany Lions. His hometown is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he attended La Salle College. Abdul Carter had a remarkable high school football career at La Salle College in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, where he was a four-year letterman under head coach John Steinmetz. He was the team captain and the MVP as a senior, guiding La Salle to a 9-2 record and also helped the team win the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) Championship.

During that season, he recorded 78 tackles, 53 solo stops, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two pass breakups. Carter was named to the all-state team twice and the All-PCL team thrice. He was invited to the elite All-American Bowl. He was ranked as the No. 12 linebacker as per 247Sports' national ranking, the No. 9 by On3, the No. 15 by Rivals, and the No. 14 by ESPN.
