Missouri-born wide receiver Ainias Smith was born on May 31, 2001. He committed to his home state Texas A&M University in 2019. Smith was the team's main return specialist as a freshman, predominantly playing wide receiver and hauling in 22 passes for 248 yards and three scores. In a 24-21 victory over Oklahoma State, he ran for 54 yards on seven carries while playing running back in the 2019 Texas Bowl. Smith also caught a career-high 54-yard reception and a game-high six receptions for 125 yards in the Aggies' 41-27 Orange Bowl victory over North Carolina.
