Brian Thomas Jr. attended Walker High School, where he was chosen for the All-American Bowl in 2021, along with playing basketball. After a successful high school career, Thomas committed to play collegiate football at Louisiana State University in 2021. During his freshman season, Thomas recorded 359 yards and 2 touchdowns in 12 appearances. During his junior year in 2023, Thomas recorded 1177 receiving yards and FBS-leading 17 touchdowns, earning Second-team All-SEC honors.
