Currently a free agent, Cam Newton is a professional American football player and represents the National Football League. He is nicknamed “Super Cam” and leads the NFL in career quarterback rushing touchdowns and second in career quarterback rushing yards.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Cam took his talents to Alabama, to play for Auburn University. During his time at Auburn, he won the Heisman Trophy and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game as a junior. He was a highly touted recruit and was drafted number 1 overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL draft.

Cam is a former MVP who helped carry the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2015 but ultimately didn’t succeed. Despite being a dual-threat quarterback, he has not won a championship yet.

Even though Newton has not retired yet, he has not been picked by any team as of July 2023. He is a free agent and may get chosen by a team this upcoming season.

Cam Newton’s Age

Cam Newton is currently 34 years of age. He was born on May 11, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia. Football was always an option for Cam as he is the son of Jackie and Cecil Newton Sr., who was a safety for the 1983 Dallas Cowboys and 1984 Buffalo Bills.

Cam attended Westlake high school in Atlanta, where he was a star athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. Later, he was named Gatorade Player of the Year in 2007.

Cam initially committed to play college football for the University of Florida but he transferred to Blinn College after his first year there. He again chose to transfer and this time to Auburn University, where he won the Heisman Trophy and the BCS National Championship Game in 2011.

He was drafted number one overall by the Carolina Panthers and led them to an appearance in the 2015 Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos.

Cam Newton was ultimately released by the Panthers after the 2021 season and since then has remained a free agent.
