His football journey began at North Dakota State University, where he played four seasons of collegiate football. In the 2016 NFL Draft, he was chosen as the second overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, earning the distinction of being the best-drafted FCS player. In the 2019 season, Wentz recorded 4,039 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
