Dante Trader Jr. is a former collegiate football safety who represented Maryland Terrapins in the 2024 season. He played for the Maryland Terrapins from 2021 to 2024, appearing in 47 games during that time span. While he made 12 appearances during his first season, he only had 16 total tackles and a tackle for loss to show for it. Since getting the starting role in 2022, Trader Jr. became a defensive cornerstone in Maryland’s secondary, racking up 53 or more combined tackles in each of his last three years as a Terrapin. Dante also picked off opposing quarterbacks five times wearing a Terrapins jersey. PFF gave him a grade of 68.4 for his 2024 season, as per Pro Football Focus' official website.

Trader Jr. attended Delmar Senior High School in his hometown. Later on, he transferred to McDonogh School to finish his secondary education. Trader Jr. was successful at both high schools as he was a 2017 Delaware State Champion at Delmar and helped McDonogh reach an 11-1 record in 2019, as reported by University of Maryland's official website.
