Davante Lavell Adams is an American football wide receiver for the New York Jets in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers selected Adams as the 53rd overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. During the 2020 NFL season, Adams led the league with 18 receiving touchdowns and recorded 115 receptions for 1374 receiving yards. After eight seasons with the Packers, Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. He led the league with 14 receiving touchdowns in his debut season with the Raiders. After two seasons with the Raiders, Adams was traded to the Jets, in exchange for a conditional third-round pick. During his 11-year NFL career, Adams has received six consecutive Pro Bowl honors from 2017-2022 and three consecutive First-team All-Pro honors from 2020-2022.

Adams attended the Palo Alto High School in California. He was a versatile player who could play wide receiver and cornerback as well. Adams won the CIF championship as a senior in 2010, contributing 64 receptions for 1,094 yards and 44 tackles. Adams committed to Fresno State University in 2011. After being redshirted in 2011, Adams had a breakout sophomore season in 2012. He recorded 102 receptions for 1,312 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning MW Freshman of the Year and Third-team All-American honors. After recording 131 receptions for 1719 receiving yards his junior year, Adams earned Paul Warfield Award, along with Second-team All-American honors in 2013. He also received First-team All-MW twice in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Davante Adams Jersey Number

Davante Adams wears jersey number 17 for the New York Jets, as of October 2024. Adams has worn this number since his debut with the Packers. He continued to wear the number 17 at the Raiders and then to the New York Jets in 2024. In order to make room for Adams, Malachi Corley, the Jets' rookie wide receiver, changed his jersey number from 17 to 14.

Adams had different numbers in high school and college days. During his time at Palo Alto, Adams wore the number 10 for his high school. However, Adams wore the number 15 on the back of his jersey during his time at Fresno State.
