Derek Dallas Carr is an American football player for the New Orleans Saints as of the 2024 NFL season. The Oakland Raiders selected him with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In his rookie season with the Raiders in 2014, he started in all 16 regular season games, recording 3,270 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. After spending nine seasons with the Raiders, he signed a four-year contract with the Saints in 2023 (according to Spotrac). As of Week 9 in 2024, he has 5,665 passing attempts, 3,684 completions, 251 touchdowns, 111 interceptions, and 40,325 passing yards in his NFL career. He has also been selected to the Pro Bowl four times (2015–2017, 2022).

Before joining the NFL, Carr played college football for the Fresno State Bulldogs, representing California State University, Fresno, from 2009 to 2013. According to Sports Reference, he finished his college career with 1,630 passing attempts, 1,087 completions, 113 touchdowns, 24 interceptions, and 12,843 passing yards. He also won the Sammy Baugh Trophy in 2013, was named MW Offensive Player of the Year twice (2012, 2013), earned First-team All-MW honors twice (2012, 2013), and was First-team All-WAC in 2011. During high school, he attended both Clements High School and Bakersfield Christian High School.
