Drew Sample is an American football player who plays as a tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals as of the 2024 NFL season. Sample was the 52nd overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft for the Cincinnati Bengals. In his debut season, Sample started two of the nine games he played in and recorded five receptions for 30 yards. In 2020, Sample started 13 games and recorded one touchdown, one fumble and 40 receptions for 349 yards. He played in all 17 games in 2021. In October 2022, he suffered a season-ending injury The following year, Sample extended his contract with the Bengals for one year. Sample played collegiate football at the University of Washington. After redshirting in 2014, Sample played in all the games and recorded five receptions for 45 yards and two touchdowns in 2015. He received Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac-12 and Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 in 2016. He played in 10 games in 2017. In his senior year, he concluded the season with three touchdowns and 25 receptions for 252 yards. For high school, Sample attended Newport High School.
