Eugene Cyril Smith III commonly known as Geno Smith is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders as of March 2025. The New York Jets selected him with the 39th overall pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. The 34-year-old quarterback (as of March 2024) began his football journey at Miramar High School. After high school, he studied at West Virginia University, where he committed to playing college football for the West Virginia Mountaineers football team from 2009 to 2012. His other noteworthy achievements include being named to the All-Big East Conference Second-team (2010), and the All-Big East Conference First-team (2011).

After starting his first two seasons as QB1 for the New York Jets, injuries and inconsistency led to him being benched and gradually moved to a backup spot. Smith has also played for the New York Giants, and Los Angeles Chargers, before landing in Seattle Seahawks in 2019. In 2022, Smith was named the 2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year and led the league in completion percentage. He also earned Pro Bowl selections in 2022 and 2023.
