The New York Jets are one of the two New York franchises competing in the NFL. The Jets have been struggling over the past few seasons as compared to their counterpart the Giants. With playoffs eluding the New York Jets since 2010. The Jets rely on the NFL Draft to shift the tide in their favor by picking some of the best college prospects. Jets general manager Joe Douglas reportedly wishes to keep hold of their 13th overall selection in the draft and use it to fill one of the roster's key missing pieces.

Let us take a look at the number of picks the New York Jets have in the 2023 NFL Draft.

New York Jets 2023 NFL Draft Picks

Here are the Jets' picks for the 2023 NFL Draft:

  • Round 1: 13th overall

  • Round 2: 42nd overall

  • Round 2: 43rd overall

  • Round 3: None

  • Round 4: 112th overall

  • Round 5: 143rd overall

  • Round 6: 207th overall

  • Round 7: None

The New York Jets have a total of 6 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.

In exchange for the Cleveland Browns' second-round pick, New York traded them WR Elijah Moore and their third-round pick. This indicates that the Jets will now make back-to-back selections with picks Numbers 42 and 43.

Their initial seventh-round pick, along with nose tackle Steve McLendon, was traded to Tampa Bay last season. The Jets were given Tampa's sixth-round selection in 2022 as compensation.

A sixth-round pick is available for the Jets, but it is not their own. They made a conditional trade for running back James Robinson in which they sent the Jacksonville Jaguars their initial sixth-round pick.

The Jets would have surrendered their 143rd overall choice in the fifth round if Robinson had carried for 600 yards or more throughout the season. Robinson did not get that many yards on the ground, so the Jets traded their initial sixth-round pick for the 185th pick.

But when they sent LB Blake Cashman to the Houston Texans, they also got a separate sixth-round selection.

There are rumors that Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants to play for the New York Jets this season which is one of the most exciting prospects for the team. If the Jets can make use of their Draft picks wisely they can have a squad that can overcome their playoff drought.
