J'Kaylin Dobbins is an American football running back for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens drafted Dobbins with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Ravens had already dealt tight end, Hayden Hurst, to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for the pick used on Dobbins. Dobbins concluded his debut NFL campaign with two fumbles and nine running touchdowns. He sustained an ACL injury during the 2021 NFL season, which forced him to spend the full season on injured reserve. Dobbins scored a touchdown in the first week of the 2023 NFL season, prior to enduring a season-ending knee injury.

Dobbins played collegiate football at Ohio State University from 2017 to 2019. With 1,403 yards in his debut season, Dobbins set the record for freshman rushing record. Dobbins finished the 2018 season with 1,053 running yards and received second-team All-American honors in 2017 and 2018. In the Heisman Trophy vote, Dobbins finished sixth, and he was a nominee for the Doak Walker Award and received first-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten honors. Dobbins went to high school at La Grange in Texas. He scored 74 touchdowns in his final football season of high school. Dobbins was regarded as one of the best five players in his 2016 class, even though he sustained an injury in his senior year.

JK Dobbins Injury History

Dobbins has endured multiple injuries since he began playing football. As of October 2024, Dobbins suffered his most recent ailment in 2023, when he sustained an Achilles tendon tear. During the 2021 season, Dobbins sustained a torn LCL, ACL, Meniscus Trim and Hamstring tear. Prior to that, Dobbins suffered an ankle sprain while playing in the Fiesta Bowl in 2019.

Pedal Achilles Tear Grade III (2023)

After tearing his Achilles during the game against the Texans in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season, Dobbins was placed on the injury reserve for the remainder of the season. He underwent surgery in mid-September for the same.

Thigh Hamstring Tear Grade III, Knee LCL Tear Grade III, Knee Meniscus Trim, Knee ACL Tear Grade III (2021)

During a preseason game on 28th August, 2021, Dobbins sustained multiple injuries. Dobbins sustained a grade III torn LCL, ACL and Hamstring during the game against the Washington Commanders. These injuries resulted in Dobbins being ruled out for the entire season.

Pedal Ankle Sprain Grade III (2019)

At the end of the first half of the Fiesta Bowl game against the Clemson Tigers, Dobbins sustained an ankle injury in 2019.
