
Jake Browning is an American professional football quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL. Born on April 11, 1996, Browning made a name for himself during his high school years at Folsom High School in California, where he achieved remarkable success as a quarterback. His standout performance, including a national-record 91 touchdown passes in his senior year, earned him the title of Gatorade Football Player of the Year twice. Rated as a four-star recruit, he chose to play college football at the University of Washington, where he was a direct admit into the Foster School of Business. After going undrafted in 2019, Browning signed with the Minnesota Vikings before joining the Bengals.

Jake Browning Draft
The Minnesota Vikings signed Browning as an unrestricted free agent. Browning was a part of the 2019 NFL Draft after he spent four years at the University of Washington from 2015 to 2018. He had had an excellent career in his high school and college days but a shoulder injury in 2017 caused him to fall off the radar of most teams. His shoulder injury which required surgery made him fall out with teams in the NFL and as a result, the current Bengals signal-caller went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. It was only after the draft that the Minnesota Vikings signed him which began his journey in the professional league.

Browning was born in Folsom, California, a city in Sacramento County. He went to Folsom High School where he played as a quarterback on their football team. Browning was not only a superb football player, but he was equally good at academics earning a 4.0 GPA.
On the field, Browning has an amazing time setting records with his stellar play. Throughout his time in high school, the former Vikings quarterback completed 1,191 of 1,708 attempts for 16,775 yards and 229 touchdowns from 46 games. All of these stats are California State records while the 229 touchdowns is a national record, which Maty Mauk previously held. Earning the Gatorade Football Player of the Year recognition in his junior and senior years, Browning was rated as a four-star recruit by popular US college recruiting website Rivals.com.
Jake Browning College Career
After completing high school, Browning decided to go to the University of Washington to continue his academics and football career. Playing for the Huskies football team, Browning became the starter of the team from his freshman season itself leading the Huskies to a 7-6 record. He finished the season with 2,955 passing yards but had a touchdown-interception ratio of 16-10.
Browning started to get into his groove in his sophomore season as he guided his team to an excellent 12-2 record along with a conference championship which was a first since 2000 for the Huskies. Unfortunately, though, he suffered a shoulder injury which reduced his performance in the latter stages of the year. He still finished with 3,430 passing yards and a much improved 43-9 touchdown-interception ratio.
Considering the monumental numbers he put up in his sophomore year, his junior and senior years were a bit of a step back. He finished his last two years with the Huskies by throwing for 2,719 and 3,192 passing yards and had 19 and 16 touchdowns as against 5 and 10 interceptions respectively.
