James Robinson is an American footballer who plays as a running back for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). Robinson's career began in the year 2020 when he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent after the NFL draft in 2020.

After joining with the Jacksonville Jaguars he signed a deal with them on April 27, 2020. In the 2020 season in a match against the Indianapolis Colts, he made his official NFL debut where in the following match he recorded sixteen carries for 62 rushing yards and a reception. Robinson was able to continue his dominant performance throughout the entire season and he finished his debut season with the record for most scrimmage yards of any rookie free agent in NFL history. In Week 16 of the 2021 season In a match against the New York Jets, he tore his Achilles tendon which ended his season he finished the following season with 767 rushing yards and eight touchdowns through 14 games.

After having Career altering season in the 2021 season the Jaguars traded Robinson to the New York Jets in 2022 and he played in four games for the rest of the season for the Jets. In 2023 he signed a new contract of two years with the New England Patriots worth $8 million. However, on June 12, he was released by the New England Patriots due to health concerns. He signed a new contract deal with the New York Giants on July 21, 2023, and is currently with them.
