Verse was born in Dayton, Ohio, and spent his formative years in Berwick, Pennsylvania. He excelled in high school football, playing both tight end and defensive end positions for Central Columbia High School. Beyond the football field, he demonstrated his athletic prowess on the basketball court and track events. Following his graduation, he initially committed to playing college football for the University of Albany.
