Jevon Holland is an NFL player who plays for the Miami Dolphins, performing as a safety. Starting his football journey in Canada, in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Holland later relocated to Pleasanton, California. During high school, he played for the Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland where he performed well as a defensive back and receiver. Holland joined the University of Oregon for his college and during his freshman season, he played in 13 games, and he was the leader in interceptions with five. In his sophomore year, he played all the games for the team; 14 games and for the second consecutive year led the team in interceptions with four. He decided to sit out on the 2020-21 season and declare for the draft in the NFL.
The Miami Dolphins chose him as the first safety in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. In his rookie season, he makes 69 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 2 interceptions in a total of 16 games. This performance earned him a place on the 2021 PFWA All-Rookie Team for which he was duly nominated. It was even better in 2022, during which Holland played all 17 games and made 96 tackles and two interceptions. Another breakthrough moment in Holland’s career was in 2023 and that was when he scored his first touchdown in the NFL. During one of the games he intercepted a Hail Mary pass and he ran it back for 99 yards knocking the New York Jets out of the game and giving the Dolphins the win.
