Joe Mixon is an American professional footballer who plays as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Houston Texans. Joe's professional career in the NFL began in 2017, when he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the overall 48th pick in the second round of the NFL 2017 Draft. He was named for the 2021 Pro Bowl and was the AFC Offensive Player of the Week that same season for a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12. As a five-star recruit, he received 47 offers from universities, but he chose the University of Oklahoma and was named for the first-team All-Big 12 in his junior season in 2016. However, the standout player skipped his senior years for the NFL Draft. Regardless, after playing for seven seasons with the Bengals, the running back, with 1,571 carries for 6,412 rushing yards and 49 touchdowns in 97 games, was traded to the Texans in early 2024.
