Justin Herbert, born on March 10, 1998, in Eugene, Oregon, is an American professional football player. He plays the position of a quarterback for the NFL team named Los Angeles Chargers. Herbert was selected as the 6th pick in the 2020 NFL draft, by the Los Angeles Chargers. As a starter in his rookie season, he started to make an immediate impact on the game, breaking multiple records and gaining increased recognition for his performances. He won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was ranked number 56th by his peers in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2021.

In 2021, Herbert set the franchise record for passing yards (5,014) and passing touchdowns (38). He was selected into the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2021. Furthermore, he was ranked 40th by his fellow players in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022. He completed the 2022-23 season with 4,739 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He led the Chargers to the playoffs but lost in the Wild Card Round. Herbert signed a contract extension with the Chargers in 2023. The contract worth $262.5 million made him the NFL’s highest-paid player at that time. Eventhough his 2023 season was cut short due to hand injury, Herbert still managed to put up more than 3,100 yards in 13 games he played in. He threw for 20 touchdowns to just 7 interceptions that year. For fourth straight year, Herbert was voted in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2024 list, coming in at 75.
