Olumuyiwa Anthony Fashanu, commonly known as Olu Fashanu, is an American football offensive tackle in the NFL for the New York Jets. The New York Jets selected him as the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Fashanu represented the Penn State Nittany Lions during his college tenure. Following a successful career at Pennsylvania State University from 2020 to 2023, he announced the decision to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, marking the first significant step toward his professional football journey. His notable achievements during his collegiate career include earning the prestigious title of Consensus All-American and being honored as the Rimington–Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year award in 2023. Additionally, he secured a spot on both the First-team All-Big Ten in 2023 and Second-team All-Big Ten in 2022.
Before committing to playing college football at Penn State, the Maryland native attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, where he began playing high school football. In his freshman year of high school time, he excelled both in basketball and football. Focusing on football, he secured first-team All-WCAC honors in both his junior and senior years.
