Samuel Richard Darnold is a professional American football player who plays as a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL, as of 2024. The New York Jets selected Darnold with the third overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. Darnold started 13 games in his first season and finished with 2,865 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. In addition to recording 33 receptions for 62 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, Darnold concluded the 2019 season with 3,024 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
