Sterling Shepard, a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was born on February 10, 1993. He was drafted by the New York Giants as the 40th pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He went to the University of Oklahoma from 2012 to 2015. During his college career, he was named for the first-team All-Big 12 in 2014 and 2015. He was also named to the first-team All-American in 2015. In his four seasons with the Oklahoma Sooners, he played in 49 games, recording 233 receptions for 3,482 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns.

Shepard signed a four-year rookie contract with the Giants and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2016. Moving on, in 2019, he received a four-year contract extension; however, the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons were full of Achilles and ACL injuries. In 2023, he signed another one-year contract with the Giants. A season later, in June 2024, he signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; however, he was initially on the practice squad but was promoted to the active roster in October. In eight years in the NFL, he has played in 90 games, starting 74, with 372 receptions for 4,095 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns.
