Tez Johnson is an American wide receiver who played college football for the Oregon Ducks in the 2024 season. Coming out of Pinson Valley High School as a three-star prospect, Johnson started his collegiate football journey with the Troy Trojans, where he won the 2022 Cure Bowl. During his high school career, Tez Johnson led Pinson Valley to the Alabama 6A state championship in his junior year and the Alabama 6A semi-finals in his senior year. After enrolling with the Trojans, Johnson saw action in 11 games in his freshman year, where he totalled 18 receptions for 211 yards. In three seasons with Troy, the Pinson native recorded 141 catches for 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns.
Johnson entered the transfer portal in 2022 and transferred to Oregon in the 2023 season. As a redshirt junior for the Ducks, Johnson broke the single-season record for receptions with 86, for 1,182 yards and 10 scores. In 2024, Johnson announced that he would be returning to Oregon in the 2024 season for his final season of college football. As a senior, Johnson caught 83 receptions for 898 yards, along with 10 receiving touchdowns (via ESPN). Earlier this year, Johnson declared himself for the 2025 NFL Draft via his official Instagram account.
