In 2021 after joining the Jacksonville Jaguars Etienne signed a deal with them for four years worth $12.9 million. The Jaguars Head coach announced that Etienne upon joining will not be playing as a running back but he will play as a wide receiver for the team. He suffered a Lisfranc injury in a preseason game against the New Orleans Saints Etienne. It was then later revealed that the following injury would require him to have surgery which resulted in the end of his first season with the Jaguars before it even began.

In the 2022 season in a match against the Washington Commanders, he made his official NFL debut where in the following match he recorded four carries for 47 rushing yards. He recorded his first career touchdown in a match against the New York Giants. Etienne was able to continue his dominant performance throughout the entire season and he finished the 2022 season with 220 carries for 1,125 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns with 35 receptions for 316 receiving yards.
