Jalen Carter is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 NFL season. He was selected by the Eagles in the 2023 NFL Draft with the 9th overall pick in the first round. Carter played 16 games recording 6.0 sacks and 33 tackles in his rookie season. Born on September 27, 2001, in Apopka, Florida, Carter played football at Apopka High School. Carter played college football as a defensive lineman for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. As a freshman, he played in all 10 games and recorded 14 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. In 2021, Jalen Carter was named to the Coaches’ All-SEC Second Team. He played in all 15 games, finishing with 37 tackles and 33 QB pressures, which was the second-best on the team.
