Will Shipley is an American football running back playing for the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL as of 2024. His NFL career kickstarted after being selected as the 127th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Shipley signed his 4-year rookie contract worth $4.7 million on May 13, 2024, as per Spotrac. According to Shipley’s Instagram handle, the Weddington, North Carolina native got engaged to Ayden Yates in July 2024. Through 16 games in the 2024 NFL regular season, Shipley has 30 rush attempts, averaging 2.7 yards per carry. He also recorded four receptions for 35 receiving yards (via Pro Football Reference).

The 5-foot-11 running back went to Weddington High School in his hometown. The dual-threat running back concluded his high school career by rushing for 4,173 yards on 503 carries and more than 1,400 yards in receiving game. The 22-year-old back (as of January 2025) skipped his senior year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and entered Clemson University in 2021.

Will Shipley was used both as a running back and kickoff returner at Clemson. The First-team All-American played 36 games for the Tigers, starting 31. While Shipley’s primary duties were in the backfield, Clemson also slotted him as a return specialist on a few instances. (via his college roster page)

Will’s best season as a rusher came in 2022 when he rushed for 1,182 yards, while as a kick returner, his most productive year came in 2021 when he returned 14 kicks for 380 yards. Shipley finished his collegiate career with 2,747 rushing yards and 904 yards as a kickoff returner as per Sports Reference. His threat in the receiving game was also evident by his 602 receiving yards in three years with the Tigers.
