Xavier Newman-Johnson is an American football guard for the New York Jets, as of the 2024 NFL season. The Tennessee Titans recruited him as an undrafted agent after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft. Newman struggled in his initial days at the Titans, as he was shifted to the practice squad before subsequently getting on the active roster. The Titans waived him in October 2023 and signed with the New York Jets three days later. Newman-Johnson has played both guard as well as centre for the Jets at times.
Newman-Johnson attended DeSoto High School in Texas. He ranked No. 324 on the PrepStar Top 350 All-America list and No. 246 on ESPN300 as a national recruit. Newman-Johnson also also played for the victorious Team Armour in the 2017 All-Star Game and was named an Under Armour All-American. Newman-Johnson committed to the Baylor University after switching twice from Texas and Colorado. He appeared in 57 games during his collegiate career at Baylor.
