Zachary Adam Ertz is an American football tight end for the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL season. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Ertz with the 35th pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Ertz started three regular season games while appearing in 16 in his rookie year in 2013. Ertz recorded 36 receptions for 469 yards for four touchdowns, as per ESPN. The Philadelphia Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl (LII), as he started 13 regular season games in 2017. After nine seasons at the Eagles, Ertz was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2021. After making 28 appearances for the Cardinals, Ertz was traded to the Washington Commanders in 2024.

Growing up in California, Ertz attended Monte Vista High School. Ertz recorded 56 receptions for 756 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior. Ertz committed to Stanford University playing for the Cardinals from 2009 to 2012. He played in all 13 games as a freshman recording 16 receptions for 190 yards and five touchdowns, according to Sports Reference. In the 37 games he appeared during his collegiate career, Ertz has recorded 112 receptions for 1,434 yards and 15 touchdowns, as per Sports Reference.
