Zachary "Zach" Ertz, a tight end for the Washington Commanders, was born on November 10, 1990. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles as the 35th pick in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After playing for eight seasons with the Eagles, including one Super Bowl win in 2017, he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals mid-season in 2021.

In January 2024, Ertz began playing on the Detroit Lions' practice squad, but in March, he signed with the Commanders. In 2018, he made an NFL record for most receptions by a tight end in a single season, 116. He is also a three-time Pro Bowler in 2017, 2018, and 2019. According to Pro Football Reference, he has played in 167 games, recording 770 receptions for 8,044 receiving yards and 52 touchdowns as of January 2025.
