Inaugural Bengaluru 10k Challenge to be held this July

The first edition of the Bengaluru 10K Challenge is slated for the 12th July 2015. This event will be flagged off at NICE Road Check Post, Bangalore.

There will be two categories within the event. The first is the timed 10K run and in a first of its kind, there will also be a timed 5K event. In an effort to encourage more people to take up running, there is a timed shorter distance course which brings a certain amount of seriousness to what is usually just a fun distance.

The total prize money across all categories is worth Rs. 11 lakh, and promises to attract quality runners from across the nation to ensure fierce competitiveness in the event. Aptly promoted as ‘Challenge Yourself’, the prize money is divided into age categories of 5 years each, ranging from Under 25 to Above 60. This would act as an incentive to have people from all age-groups to get up and challenge themselves; to get out and do their first competitive run or get out there and do their fastest distance yet.
