Sunday, 7 June, Bengaluru: Back for the fifth year, the third under the DHL banner, the DHL Corporate Champions came to a thrilling conclusion as Team Fit Kids took home the winning award of Rs. 1,00,000 with a team aggregate time of 1:57:30. Fit Kids' Sowmya Savanth, completed the 10-km double-lap course in 00:45:16, the fastest in her category, while her teammate Goutham S. completed the course in 00:36:07, each taking home a prize of Rs. 10,000.

Bagging the silver medals and a cash prize of Rs. 75,000, Team Oracle completed the Race in 02:09:04, just ahead of Team Infosys who finished third with an aggregate timing of 02:09:18. Concluding the presentation ceremony, Team IBM won the ‘Best Performing Company Award’ based on the number of teams fielded for the event.

Each of the participating teams consisted of three full-time employees – 2 men and 1 woman runner and the best aggregate of net timings determined the winner of the race. The race that commenced from Kasturba Road at 6 a.m. today, was flagged off by Dhyan Chand Awardees Uday Prabhu and Satish Pillai, Honourable Secretary of Karnataka Amateur Athletics Association, N. Chandrasekhar alongside Denzil George, Relationship Sales Manager, South India, DHL.

Marking the weekend of World Environment Day, the corporate race also saw India's first automatic electronic car, the eco-friendly Reva E2O show the way as the lead car of the DHL Corporate Champions.

On the culmination of the DHL Corporate Champions, Mr. R. S. Subramanian, Senior Vice President & Country Manager, India DHL Express said, “We are overwhelmed with the response received by participants for the DHL Corporate Champions 2015, and would like to thank all our participants for their enthusiasm.

“The passion, camaraderie, determination and delight that was been palpable across teams was truly inspiring. We are confident that the dedication towards fitness, displayed by our participating corporates, is here to stay and would like to congratulate the winners on their achievement.”

With a total prize money of Rs. 3,11,000 this year, the DHL Corporate Champions has been synonymous with the ability to infuse the spirit of teamwork among participating companies and has also doubled up as an effective HR tool across corporates. In the last four editions, the Corporate Champions has seen renowned companies like Infosys, Wipro, GE India, IBM India, Tesco, Tata Consultancy Services, Nike India among others participate in the category with passion and determination.

The DHL Corporate Champions, also marked the end of this year's edition of the TCS World 10K races.

Speaking on the culmination of yet another edition of the run. Dilip Jayram, CEO, Procam International said, “We are delighted to see so many corporates put on their running shoes this morning. In spite of the run being rescheduled due to unfortunate circumstances, the zeal and enthusiasm that all the participants have shown has been remarkable.
