5 forgotten WWE Superstars who are still on the roster

Being the monopolistic power in professional wrestling is not an easy task as far as WWE is concerned. They have to keep a plethora of talent in their roster and yet give only five or six men the top spots and high prices much to the misery of the WWE Universe. While those chosen men go through repetitive bookings, the rest go through roller coaster that see them fighting for the championship on week and pulling off a disappearing act on the next. And though these superstars mostly remain from the curious eyes of the fans, they still earn some fat checks and hold the coveted tag of being in the WWE roster. So lets take a look at some of those names who the fans have started to forget but are still on the ocean deep roster of Vince McMahons promotion.

#5 Yoshi Tatsu

A well-known star in Japan thanks to his spell with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Yoshi Tatsu was signed by WWE as their effort to tap into the Japanese markets.

Having a transition from the “wrestling” style of Japan to WWE’s “family friendly” style is never an easy task for a wrestler and that’s where Tatsu fell. He was given a stint at FCW which toned down his speed and high flying ability and transformed him into a jobber.

Soon Tatsu ended up in ECW with his newly found skills only to be packed out to NXT later.

NXT was a much worse place for Tatsu as the biggest feud he had was in the name of an action figure against Tyson Kidd.

Tatsu still remains in the roster despite being an utter failure in WWE and now spends his time jobbing for the young talents in NXT.

#4 Curt Hawkins

Edge used to have a stable named La Familia which was known for its interactions with the Undertaker during its active times and just in case you forgot Hawkins, he was that guy in La Familia who frequently used to get chokeslamed by the Phenom.

Hawkins had a hot tag team with Zack Ryder during that time and many thought that they were brothers due to their striking similar looks and real names. But once Mr. McMahon realized that these two weren’t real brothers he decided to pull the plug on the duo.

This left Hawkins lost in development for some time and he never again got a good spot in the main roster after that. His recent appearance came in the Main Event a couple of weeks back and that was like his first appearance in ages.

He hasn’t won a match for almost a year as well and the fans have clearly forgotten that there is actually someone like this still in the roster.

#3 JTG

A victim of a botched move from the writers, JTG was part of the Cryme time which would’ve thrived under the current tag team division.

Alongside Shad, he managed to form one of the most popular baby face tag teams during that time but all of a sudden one day the company decided to turn him heel and split up the team which initiated his fall.

Soon, Shad was caught in between some backstage problems which lead to his release and JTG was kicked into NXT in 2010 after he failed to click with his heel run.

JTG hasn’t been on any significant match after that as he most of times ended up as a quick match jobber for some upcoming jobber.

He still remains in the roster after that poor run of almost four years which is actually a surprising thing.

#2 Zack Ryder

Ryder has been a cult internet hero for the WWE but is also one of the most depressing stories in the company at the moment .He is of those superstars who are immensely popular despite not getting into the ring very often.

He had a web series which just went into the stars and also is a big merchandise player for the company. But even after all that, he still doesn’t get what he wants: sometime in the wrestling ring.

Ryder had a small United States title run back a couple of years back but it eventually turned out as a cheap trick of WWE to give some importance to Hugh Jackman’s appearance as it was Jackman who helped Ryder win the title.

After dropping the title, Ryder had a short romantic stint with Eve Torres and saw himself stomped down after that.

He rarely gets a match and never gets a win despite being hugely over with the fans. And at this rate, the fans who aren’t aware of what goes around the internet might be thinking “who is this new guy”, the next time he walks into the ring.

#1 Evan Bourne

Bourne came into the WWE thanks to his impressive showing in the independent scene where he had some great matches with CM Punk, Chris Sabin, Kevin Steen and many more.

But once he landed on WWE things changed fast.

In the start he got some big push which saw him team up with John Cena and get the pin over Edge and Sheamus. Along with that He was immensely over with the fans as well thanks to his high flying style and shooting star press finish.

However, he soon crash landed into the mat after WWE decided to team him up with Kofi Kingston. it was followed with a suspension for violating the company’s drug policy and a car accident which broke his leg.

He hasn’t been on television ever since that and considering the quality of matches that he used to pull off, he was an expendable which was more worth than the lights of Heath Slater, Titus O’Neil and many others in the undercard.

A great return and a very big push are the only things that could save his career at the moment and if it doesn’t happen he might well pack his bags and head back into the Indys.
