5 Superstars that WWE needs to release

Arjun R

The WWE has witnessed a whole lot of changes over the years. Ever since going into the PG era, they are desperately trying to maintain stable TRP ratings which seems a major task in itself. Despite bringing back yesteryear stars like The Rock, Hulk Hogan,Goldust and Batista amongst others, they have failed to create a lasting impact in the minds of the fans quite unlike the WWE we are used to seeing. The poor viewership despite having a star cast proves to be WWE's biggest problem and upon that, there are some superstars who are a piling up to be liablities at large. These guys are wasting air time and not generating enough dough either.Let us have a look at some of the guys that the WWE has to release.

#1 R- Truth

R Truth is a veteran in the WWE. He earlier wrestled under the name K-Kwik and was a two time hardcore champion. He was one of those exciting stars to see back in the days during the attitude era, where he teamed up with Road Dogg and gave several impressive performances. He was however sidelined later on and eventually released by the WWE in 2002.

After wrestling in other promotions, Kwik made a return to the WWE in 2008 under the name R-Truth. A character that rapped to glory and connected well with the fans. Ever since then, he has become too bland a wrestler.

Truth has had several character fluctuations in this time to no avail. He has been monotonous in his approach and has become a boring act. He has to be released sooner or later and 'that's the sad truth' that he has to deal with.

#2 The Miz

The Miz has surely made a remarkable journey from his 'Tough Enough' days to becoming the WWE champion. He is also a former United states champion, a money in the bank winner and has a couple of movies deals to top it all.

He's rubbed shoulders with the top guys in the business and has proven to be a performer. But what he does as of late in the WWE is a matter of concern.

The WWE, once taking Miz to the pinancle of fame has now a days rendered him jobless. He does a lot of backstage promotions and all that for the company, but has become stale in the ring. He is mainly used to job to upcoming talent or get beaten by legends and celebrities who make guest appearences.

Miz's glory days seem to be in the past and the WWE needs to take a call soon.

#3 Damien Sandow

Damien Sandow is one of the very few wrestlers who has an amazing choice of words and a contrasting choice in ring apparel. Sandow reminds you of how you give a kid a candy and take it away from him before he gets to relish it.

Yes, that's right. The WWE made Sandow win the Money in the Bank ladder match and and and..... that's pretty much it. He unsuccessfully cashed it in against John "superhuman' Cena and has ever since pretty much lost all his in ring battles.

'The intellectual savior of the masses' has been doing 'god knows what' in the WWE as of late. He was once annoying on the mike but a good in ring talent. He is now however booked quite miserably and the WWE needs to either change his gimmick or release him.

#4 Brodus Clay

Brodus Clay, or the "The Funkasaurus" as we all know him made a promising start to his WWE career. His new dancing and happy go lucky gimmick earned him a lot of fanfare and Clay was more then happy to cater to the fans.

He was initially Del Rio's body guard and then graduated to teaming up with Tensai to form the whacky "Tons of Funk'. That is pretty much the highlight of Clay's acheivements. He credibly dances and squashes opponents on a regular basis, but there is an expiry date to every gimmick isn't there?

The WWE has perenially promoted large athletes over the years and it looked to be the same with Clay. They have however decided otherwise and the 'gentle giant' remains a liablity in the WWE without any clear direction.

#5 The Great Khali

How often does someone who debuts by threatening the Undertaker and decimating him like never before end up kissing random ladies in the crowd and filling air time in the WWE. If this is hard to believe in itself, imagine if that personality was over seven foot ,weighed a solid 400 pounds and could easily slaughter anybody put ahead of him.

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring to you 'The Great Khali', a wrestler who the WWE has succesfully transformed from being the "Punjabi nightmare' to the 'Punjabi playboy'.

Khali dominated proceedings early on in the WWE and was perhaps the Phenom's toughest competition ever. He had customized matches to wreak havoc on his opponents and was one of the most feared wrestlers in recent times. Then one day, all of a sudden the WWE decided that he will be a 'fun persona' and made a character transformation that they would regret.

Khali has done nothing noteworthy in the WWE for over 3 years now and it is heartbreaking to see him in such a pitiable state. It is about time he goes elsewhere and gets booked for what he's worth rather then continue to play this uncharacteristic gimmick.
