#2 Steffi Graf Vs Jana Novotna (1993)

Stefanie Maria "Steffi" Graf, the former world number 1 was a favourite for more reasons than one. Even today, Serena Williams aims to emulate Graf’s achievement and tries to break her record of winning 22 Grand Slam titles.

However much impregnable that feat sounds, we will have to wait and see where that goes.

Novotna dropped her first set but came back strongly in the second when she dropped just a single game in the second set. Novotna was close to victory as she was one point away from taking a 5-1 lead when Graf struck back to win the match.

The title was snatched away from Jana’s Novotna’s hands as she stood there and cried her heart out after the loss.
