Ottesen Gray wins women's 50m butterfly gold at World Swimming Championships

Barcelona, Aug 4 (IANS): Jeanette Ottesen Gray of Denmark won the gold medal in the women’s 50 metre butterfly at the World Swimming Championships here.

Ottesen Gray, who had been fastest in qualifying and had the fastest time of the year, finished ahead of China’s Lu Ying in 25.24 seconds. Lu Ying produced a strong finish and swam her personal best time of 25.42 Saturday night.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands earned her second medal of the meet as she finished third in 25.53 to take the bronze.
