Fans react to P.K. Subban's critique of Jacob Trouba's penalty

NHL fans had a lot to say following PK Subban's critique of Jacob Trouba's penalty for his hit on Evan Rodrigues during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers. Trouba attempted a hit on Florida forward Evan Rodrigues, but in the process, his forearm made contact with Rodrigues' head, sending him down.

While Jacob Trouba received a penalty for 'elbowing,' it was more of a forearm strike. Rodrigues exited the game and hasn't returned, raising concerns about Trouba's repercussions.

However, Subban's post on X questioning why Jacob Trouba's hit didn't warrant a major penalty drew a range of responses from fans.

One fan, seemingly critical of Subban's expertise, commented,

"Take hockey expert out of your bio."

However, another fan took a different stance, analyzing the play itself.

"Because it's not even close to a major. Look at the replay from behind. He hit him in the back of the shoulder. The head was not the principal point of contact," the fan pointed out.

Amid the debate, some fans expressed concern over Jacob Trouba's conduct on the ice.

"He has GOT to be suspended. He plays with intent to injure on every single shift," one fan asserted.

On the other hand, there were fans who defended the officials' decision, suggesting ulterior motives.

"Because they didn’t want to give Florida a bigger advantage. BLATANT intent to injure and the player is out," one fan argued.
"Get the stripes on then. You’re over emotional. Go back and watch 90’s Stanley Cup runs. I love this sport it is the best of 'em all," the fan tweeted.
"Foot drag guy chirping about what constitutes a 'hockey play' is Simpson's-level parody. Nice work PK, you're ready for an @HBO comedy special," the fan commented.

Barclay Goodrow shines in game three amid Jacob Trouba's penalty

Barclay Goodrow's postseason performance is turning heads, notably in Game 3. Following his clutch overtime winner in Game 2, the Rangers' center struck again, putting them up 2-1 early with a deft redirect. Goodrow continues to impress with his playoff skills, marking a notable streak in his career.

Goodrow's momentum surged further with a short-handed goal, extending their lead to 4-2 amid penalty trouble. Surpassing his regular-season tally, Goodrow's six playoff goals showcase his impactful play.

Despite the Panthers' early power-play goals, the Rangers' Alexis Lafrenière countered swiftly, securing a tied game. Lafreniere's second goal edged the Blueshirts ahead 3-2.

By the end of second period, the Rangers led 4-2, but Florida's Gustav Forsling and Aleksander Barkov scored goals to tie the game 4-4 in the third period.
