5 possible fallouts from 2019 Royal Rumble

The 2019 Royal Rumble delivered on all counts and then some! We had quite a few surprises, title changes, as well as setting up of new feuds for WrestleMania 35. Becky Lynch won the 30-woman Royal Rumble match despite having lost her SmackDown women's championship match to Asuka earlier in the night.

Shinsuke Nakamura won back the United States championship against Rusev in the pre-show, while The Miz and Shane McMahon won their first ever title as a tag team when they defeated The Bar.

Daniel Bryan retained his WWE Championship belt after he defeated AJ Styles with the help of former Bludgeon Brothers member, Erick Rowan. Brock Lesnar defeated Finn Balor and retained the Universal title in his first title defence since winning the belt at Crown Jewel.

#5 New faction on SmackDown

The Royal Rumble usually sees a few major surprises, either in the Rumble match or a singles match. One big surprise was the return of Erick Rowan, a former Bludgeon Brother and Wyatt Family member. But, this time, Rowan returned not as Bludgeon Brother, but in an outfit similar to what Daniel Bryan usually wears on SmackDown.

The New Daniel Bryan has had a good run as a heel, as a vegan who is against consumerism, and as the "The Planet's Champion". He could get more heat on himself if he uses a bodyguard like Rowan to inflict damage on his opponents and then retain his title.

Could we maybe even see Luke Harper join Daniel Bryan's faction once he returns from injury? That would make Bryan a bigger force to reckon with.

Heel Bryan has won me over and this could be a great run for him, and some interesting rivalries await us on SmackDown Live involving Daniel Bryan.

#4 Feuds end

Could Royal Rumble be the end of the Rusev vs Shinsuke Nakamura feud?

The 2019 Royal Rumble saw a few title changes as well as rivalries that ended. The kick-off show saw Rusev defend his United States title against Shinsuke Nakamura, a rivalry which has not really reached its peak.

Nakamura eventually won the match and regained his United States title, a year after winning the 2018 Royal Rumble. Many would have expected Nakamura to be on the main show and possibly in the Rumble or a world title match-up, but he's fallen way down the order following his feud with AJ Styles.

The match at Rumble could also mean that this is the end of his feud with Rusev, and we hope that he can initiate a feud with someone else on SmackDown this coming week.

Asuka defeating Becky Lynch could also mean that that feud will end because it is most likely that Lynch will choose to face off against Ronda Rousey for the RAW women's championship at WrestleMania 35.

#3 Eventual heel turn in Shane McMahon-The Miz tag team title reign

At Royal Rumble, we saw new SmackDown Tag Team Champions as Shane McMahon and The Miz defeated The Bar after Shane landed a superb Shooting Star Press on Cesaro. With the win, Shane won his first-ever tag team title in WWE.

But, what could this victory mean for Shane McMahon and The Miz? The tag team has been pretty entertaining so far on SmackDown with The Miz's great comedic promos.

Their win means that we will finally see some new rivalries in the SmackDown tag team division which has had several permutations and combinations in match-ups. The new SmackDown tag team champions could feud with several of the tag teams on SmackDown.

But one eventual fallout from the match is a possible heel turn of one of either Shane or The Miz, which could set up perfectly for a match at WrestleMania 35! That would be a great way to culminate a future rivalry.

#2 Charlotte Flair demands a rematch against Becky Lynch

Earlier in the night, Becky Lynch lost her SmackDown Women's title match when she was defeated by Asuka. Lynch was not scheduled to be a part of the 30-woman Royal Rumble match - or at least wasn't announced - but pleaded her way into the match after Lana couldn't make her way to the ring due to injury.

Lana injured herself when she was ringside during the United States championship match between Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura, a match that Rusev lost.

Lynch eventually eliminated Charlotte Flair, who was the last woman in the Rumble, and booked her spot at WrestleMania 35.

We could possibly see Flair, who is now a heel, complain about how Becky wasn't even supposed to be in the match and that she deserved to be the winner. This could maybe lead to an eventual WrestleMania 35 match against Ronda Rousey, in what many predict could be the first women's match to headline WrestleMania.

#1 Seth Rollins becomes Universal champion at WM35

It was quite fitting that Seth Rollins eliminated Braun Strowman, the man who was supposed to face Brock Lesnar earlier that night, to get a shot at the Universal title.

Rollins had a great 2018, carrying RAW with great rivalries and phenomenal matches. At the start of 2018, Braun Strowman was the one destined to be in the Universal title picture; but a year changes everything and Rollins is now the guy to one day usurp Brock Lesnar to win the Universal title.

After every major PPV, there's speculation about Lesnar leaving the WWE, but WrestleMania 35 really does feel like the place where Lesnar will finally lose and walk away from the WWE (if it isn't, I will hide myself in a cupboard till Survivor Series comes along).

I, for one, want to see Rollins put the Universal title around his waist and then put on more great matches on RAW.
