5 best things about WWE right now

WWE is on the right track again and a big part of that is Kevin Owens!

There's just something about WWE right now.

While the WWE still has a few hurdles to overcome before everything is perfect and the transition is a success, the company can take comfort in the fact that they have finally turned things around. In fact, between Brock Lesnar as champion again and Kevin Owens becoming the world's biggest anti-hero, it's obvious that WWE is thriving right now.

Again, this in no way means that the company has a perfect product at this point. What it is saying, however, is that the pros are vastly overshadowing the cons and WWE is on the right track. Of course, it's not known whether that will continue or not, especially with their up and down booking, but things at least look promising right now.

With that being said and things looking up for the company at this point, here are the five best things about WWE right now! As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and tell us if you think the company is on the right track in regards to booking or not.

#5 Line blurring

Blurring the lines between fiction and reality has been something WWE has done very well lately and it is no doubt paying dividends every single week. In fact, between Kevin Owens cutting an epic promo on SmackDown Live three weeks ago and Sami Zayn using the toxicity of the WWE Universe as a storyline, the company is doing a good job of mixing reality and fiction.

Beyond all that, WWE has pushed the boundaries further than ever before, especially with John Cena mentioning Jey Uso's recent arrest, and are probably prepared to do so more in the future. If nothing else, this is a truly great time to be a fan of WWE and their reality-bending storytelling is a perfect example of why.

#4 Payoffs

Admit it.

WWE is spot on when it comes to creating payoff situations for fans and that doesn't seem like something that is going to end anytime soon. Beyond that, the company has done such a great job in upping the ante on their storytelling that it makes fans genuinely want to watch what happens next.

Between Kevin Owens getting hotter and hotter as an anti-hero, and Roman Reigns getting targeted by a mystery assailant, the company is starting to give fans incentives to keep coming back. They are also creating some pretty interesting mini storylines in the process, which will also be interesting to watch play out.

In the end, WWE is doing something again. They are making their content matter and it is truly showing. With that being said, and the company coming up with great storylines across the board, it should be obvious that they are on top of their game right now.

#3 The Fiend

How did The Fiend become the biggest thing in WWE?
How did The Fiend become the biggest thing in WWE?

From the moment WWE unveiled The Firefly Funhouse, everyone knew the company was on to something. Beyond that, they knew that The WWE was putting a lot of effort into the segments and thus must have something big planned for the former WWE Champion.

While some remain sceptical about how far Bray Wyatt can go as The Fiend, his weekly Firefly Funhouse segments and run-ins with Finn Balor have been polarizing to watch. They have also been some of the most Attitude Era-type segments the company has put on in quite a while, which gives the character a chaotic feel to it.

At the end, where WWE goes from SummerSlam with The Fiend is up to them, but they have truly captured something amazing here and would be foolish not to push it. Maybe even put him in the Universal Title picture after a while and focus on the terror-in-plain-sight feel that Wyatt's gimmick is based on.

#2 More mature content

WWE is going all-in on mature content right now and it's working!
WWE is going all-in on mature content right now and it's working!

Believe it or not, it actually feels like an act of rebellion again to watch an episode of Monday Night Raw again and a lot of that has to do with more mature content. In fact, between talks of an affair between Maria Kanellis and an unknown suitor and Brock Lesnar absolutely brutalizing Seth Rollins, the WWE Universe seems to be completely enthralled by the change of pace.

While WWE still has a lot of work to do if they want to keep this momentum train going into the winter, the strides they have taken so far should speak volumes about what could happen in the future. It could even be the beginning of a new Attitude Era, which would be a huge rating's booster for WWE.

In the end, WWE needed this, and so did the fans. In all honesty, the adult audience has been ignored for a long time now and the company is finally addressing that. Whether it leads to a full-on Attitude Era type environment remains to be seen, but it's going to be interesting after seeing what they have done so far.

#1 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is the best thing about WWE right now!
Kevin Owens is the best thing about WWE right now!

Let's be honest here.

Kevin Owens is the hottest thing in WWE right now and has acted as a huge punch in the arm to SmackDown Live's programming. Not only is that made evident by the boiling hot feud between Owens and Shane McMahon, but also by how much Owens is connecting with the WWE Universe in the process.

Like many great anti-heroes before him, Owens is acting as a mouthpiece for the WWE Universe and it's yielding some pretty great results so far. Beyond that, Owens's reality-bending promos about the shortcomings of WWE show so much self-awareness on the company's part and willingness to make it better.

With that being said, Kevin Owens is on top of the world right now and while that might not last forever, hopefully, WWE can get some kind of mileage out of it. Maybe it could even result in Owen's first run with the WWE Heavyweight Championship, which would pretty much cement him as the next big thing.
