5 Reasons Roman Reigns vs. Undertaker will be great

Who will win the battle?

Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker pretty much seems like a certainty at this point for WrestleMania 33, and you know what? We're looking forward to it. Whilst a lot of people choose to be negative and automatically assume that babyface Roman is going to go over The Deadman with ease, we're choosing to be a little bit more optimistic about the whole situation.

After all, you never quite know what's going to happen in professional wrestling and it's that sense of tension that keeps us all on our toes. In the case of Reigns vs. ‘Taker, however, there are several factors behind why we're excited to see the match unfold and almost all of them are fairly obvious.

So if you're a wrestling fan and you aren't pumped for this - just try and remember why you fell in love with the business in the first place.

The two men all but confirmed that the bout was going to happen on this week's edition of Monday Night Raw, and as the weeks go on leading into Orlando, we're curious to see how much physical interaction there will be between the two giant Superstars. Nevertheless, however they choose to build it we're confident they'll knock it out of the park on April 2nd.

With that being said, here are five reasons Roman Reigns vs. Undertaker will be great.

#1 Atmosphere

The Citrus Bowl will be electric

That Citrus Bowl is going to go absolutely nuts when ‘Taker stands across the ring from Roman Reigns. No matter what you may think of either man they both know how to get a reaction, and even if it's a 100% swing in favour of the Deadman, you just know that the stadium is going to be so unbelievably loud when voicing their dislike for Roman.

It's something that will echo through to the viewing audience at home no matter how badly WWE want to block out the boos, and it'll make the occasion feel all the more special. Every near fall will be met with great uncertainty as there's a legit chance some people will try and riot if The Big Dog walks away as the victor. No, we aren't being overdramatic.

So who's gonna win?

#2 Unpredictability

unpredictability
Taker and Roman will likely keep us guessing

The Undertaker is 23-1 at WrestleMania and the only man that has ever defeated him isn't even really a man - he's a beast. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns is someone who has been pushed to the moon, defeating Triple H clean in the main event of WrestleMania 32 despite fans clearly being against the move.

So it begs the question - how the hell do you predict what's going to happen here?

A lot of people are choosing to believe that something shady will indeed take place, but it's so hard to call. The best matches are honestly the ones where you don't have a clue what's going to take place, which is one of the reasons why Rock vs Cena at SunLife Stadium was so huge.

We know Vince loves Roman but does he love him to the point where he'll make him go over ‘Taker? Time will tell. Taker's rest in peace moment may well be approaching.

#3 Retirement potential

Is this Taker’s last ride?

We all know that the day will soon arrive when The Undertaker will ride off into the sunset never to be seen again. As sad of a prospect as that is, everyone knows that his actual retirement is going to be the stuff of legends and because of that we're always on high alert when it comes to his WrestleMania matches.

This year, however, the rumours have ramped up even further when it comes to ‘Taker calling it a day due to his growing injury problems. We aren't saying that this hasn't happened in the past, but can you imagine how tempted Vince will be to have Roman be the man to retire The Deadman?

It seems unthinkable, but if it fits hand in hand with the next entry, then it could be one of the greatest angles in wrestling history.

Speaking of which.

#4 Heel dynamics

It could be time for Roman’s big moment

Roman Reigns is going to be the heel in this match and there's just no getting around it. The real question that we want to know the answer to, however, is just how far WWE are willing to go. It could just be a momentary lapse in judgement by Roman with this being the only match in which he works heel, but they could actually decide to pull the trigger on a full turn.

The dynamics of this match are going to be so fascinating because every move will be scrutinised to the point where fans will be reading into everything that Roman does. Vince will have everyone in attendance as well as everyone watching at home in the palm of his hand, which is why this is the exact moment Roman should give up on being the good guy.

Is this Roman's last chance?

#5 Roman's last stand

roman
It’s now or never

Roman Reigns may only have one last chance to really solidify himself as a top guy in the company and WrestleMania 33 is that chance. After two years of trying to get him over and failing, if Roman beats The Undertaker clean at the biggest event of the year then there's no way back for him in terms of being a future top babyface.

Why? Because it'd be the biggest slap in the face to fans who chose to believe the status quo would at some point change. We constantly go on about how the heel turn would reinvent him and lead to a positive babyface run further down the line, but none of that will matter if they decide to do what they've always done.

Let's try and be smart about this, WWE - please. Not just for our sake, but for Roman's too.
