5 Wrestlers who WWE will sign in the next year

Will WWE give the fans what they want this year?

In recent years, WWE has begun recruiting world-class talent from the Indies and around the world as is evident from the addition of A.J. Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, Asuka and Kairi Sane to the roster. Here we take a look at five great talents that are most certainly on WWE's shopping list.

#5 Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega deserves a spot on the WWE roster

Kenny Omega has earned his place as one of the best pro-wresters of our generation and it would be foolish to assume that WWE has no interest in signing him. Unfortunately, The Cleaner has already been advertised for upcoming ROH and NJPW shows but we shouldn't rule out the possibility of him signing with WWE post-Wrestle Kingdom 13.

Omega has had an incredibly successful run so far with two IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship reigns under his belt as well as being the inaugural IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. We should see NJPW wrap up his current storyline with Kota Ibushi where the two of them, the 'Golden Lovers' are seeking revenge on the Bullet Club for ousting Omega from the stable, just in time for Wrestle Kingdom 13, after which The Cleaner will probably have to choose between WWE or NJPW as his home for the next few years.

#4 Young Bucks

Ma
Here's to hoping for a Young Bucks vs. New Day feud

The eclectic duo of Matt and Nick Jackson, A.K.A the Young Bucks, is undoubtedly one of the most unique and fun acts to have come out of the Indies in recent years. Consider them (and Omega) as the few last pieces of the Bullet Club box set that WWE has been trying to acquire for the last few years. It is impossible for WWE to not want to cash in on the possibility of more merch sales as well the addition of a great new stable to keep things fresh. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Young Bucks get signed by WWE before the year is up.

#3 Toni Storm

The ne
The next big star in Women's Wrestling?

22-year-old Toni Storm showed great promise during the Mae Young Classic last year and even made it to the semi-finals after defeating Lacey Evans and Piper Niven among others before being eliminated by Kairi Sane. Storm has already tried out twice in 2014 and 2015 at WWE tryout camps in Melbourne and UK respectively but she likely needed a few years in the Indies to develop the ring maturity WWE needs. The company is now considering signing her, as is evident from her appearance at the MYC. The Kiwi Superstar should make her NXT debut by this time next year.

#2 Rey Mysterio

Could 2018 be the year of the 619?

Rey Mysterio is not only one of the greatest wrestlers of our time, he is also a household name among wrestling fans everywhere. Mysterio mentioned in a recent interview that he is free to work with WWE and even appeared for the 2018 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant.

It was apparent from his performance at the Rumble that Rey Mysterio's days in the ring are far from over and many fans even speculated he might join the 205 Live roster or even as the GM of the Cruiserweight Division. There is definitely a high possibility for the WWE legend's return before this year is up.

#1 CM Punk

The prodigal son returns?

Let's be real; CM Punk isn't turning any heads in MMA anytime soon. His first-round loss to Mickey Gall in 2016 was barely noteworthy whereas WWE fans still chant his name at WWE shows almost 3 years after his release. The fans want it. Both WWE and Punk stand to make a lot of money from getting in business again. It's just a waiting game at this point.

Punk is supposed to get another shot at UFC 225 in June but if it spells another defeat, it would probably be wise for the 39-year-old to get back to what he does best; antagonize Triple H on our live TV.
