Is Charlotte Flair finally set to taste gold on the SmackDown Live?

What's the story?

According to a report from Cageside Seats, Charlotte Flair may be set to win the SmackDown Live Women's Championship at Starrcade in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In case you didn't know...

Originally held from 1983 to 2000, Starrcade was the signature event of the NWA and WCW, where Charlotte Flair's father, Ric, put on some of the performances that established him as one of the greatest-ever professional wrestlers.

Starrcade was initially produced by Jim Crockett Promotions, the NWA's most prominent position at the time, on Thanksgiving Day in Greensboro, North Carolina.

It will take place on November 25, 2017, as a SmackDown Live-branded house show at the same venue.

The heart of the matter

Charlotte Flair will face Natalya for the SmackDown Live Women's Championship on November 14, 2017. Even though she will be unsuccessful during this attempt, The Queen is expected to capture the title at Starrcade, according to the aforementioned report from Cageside Seats.

What's next?

Starrcade will take place on November 25, 2017. This means that Natalya will face Alexa Bliss in a champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series on November 19, 2017.

Author's take

Apart from being the event which showcased some of Ric Flair's most memorable matches, Starrcade will also take place in Charlotte's home state, North Carolina. Therefore, it makes all the sense in the world for the Queen to claim SmackDown Live's biggest prize at Starrcade.
