UFC talent to join WWE

UFC Talent in Wrestling Ring

WWE has recently announced that it won’t sign any TNA wrestler to WWE in near future. But news is that a UFC player is about to join the WWE.

Dave Meltzer mentioned in this week’s newsletter that,

“A major UFC name was expected to be in contact with WWE this week about coming over in 2014. This would be someone who has the right look and his persona is better developed than 80 percent of the wrestlers in WWE and talks better than all but a few. It’s also not Chael Sonnen, who is expected to wind up as a broadcaster with FOX after his career as a fighter ends, even though Sonnen has a number of friends in WWE like recruiter Gerald Brisco and Punk.”

Name is still not announced but there are possibilities that Roy Nelson could be the one. He was in talk with WWE last year. According to Cageinsideseats.com, Roy Nelson said:

“I’m actually ecstatic. It couldn’t have happened to a better man. I think it opens a lot of doors for a lot of different fighters, and it actually opens up a lot of fighter’s eyes that there’s other ways to make a living, that you can actually do both sports. It’s like it’s okay to be a Deion Sanders playing football and baseball, or like a Bo Jackson playing football and baseball. It’s good that athletes can do that.”

Frank Mir also said that he will not oppose going in wrestling. According to Twnpnews.com,

“In a recent interview with The Chronicle Journal, Frank Mir said he wouldn’t be opposed to going into wrestling. “Not opposed to the idea,” Mir said. “I can’t do a back flip or anything.” This is leading to speculation suggesting that he could go to WWE to face Brock Lesnar. The two have split two fights in the UFC, setting up a Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir trilogy after all.”

So he could also be another option. Note that after having a good career in UFC, Brock came back in squared ring. So it is clear that WWE won’t deny signing of another talent.
