Roman Reigns opened up this week's episode of WWE RAW with a huge announcement which shook the WWE Universe.
Four months ago on the 22nd of October, 2019, Roman Reigns had made a similar appearance on WWE RAW with a huge announcement. In possibly one of the most emotional moments on a WWE show, where he had announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer -- Leukaemia.
He had revealed that 11 years ago he had fought against cancer and had managed to defeat it, but it had made a comeback. As a result, he had to take a step away from WWE to fight the disease. He had promised the fans then that he would be fighting to make sure that he would return to WWE once again.
However, given the severity of his illness, the WWE fans and Superstars alike were left devastated, not sure about when they would see Roman Reigns again.
Then, last week, it was announced that Roman Reigns would be showing up on this week's episode of WWE RAW. There were rumours flying around all week about what sort of announcement the 'Big Dog' was returning to make on that episode of WWE RAW.
He finally made his appearance and thanked the fans for the outpouring of support he had received after making the announcement of his illness. He said that they had helped him, and that had made his fight easier.
He then announced that he had swung for the fences against Cancer as he had promised, and the news was good. He had succeeded, and the cancer was in remission. He was coming back to WWE RAW and was ready to return to the WWE Universe.
This announcement was greeted by a standing ovation from the fans, and a hug from his Shield-mate, Seth Rollins, but the WWE Superstars in the locker room also showed their support on Twitter.
