WWE News: Adam Cole opens up about WWE vs Impact Wrestling, a potential NXT run, a dream match with Kenny Omega and more...

Adam Cole is a former 3-time ROH World Champion and 1-time ROH TV champ.

What’s the story?

On a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show, Adam Cole spoke to ‘Stone Cold’ about various topics including WWE vs Impact Wrestling, his plans to perform for NXT, a future fight with Kenny Omega and much more.

In case you didn’t know...

Adam Cole (real name- Austin Jenkins) is best known for being a member of ‘Bullet Club’ which is one of the most famous factions in the pro-wrestling world today.

Kenny Omega is widely considered the leader of the aforementioned faction and recent tensions between Cole and Omega have given rise to speculation amongst fans about a future fight between the two.

The heart of the matter

When asked whether he’d like to work for WWE or Impact Wrestling, Cole stated that he’d like to work WWE in the near future because it was their product that drove him to professional wrestling. He said:

"Well, obviously for me, right now, everybody knows I'm contracted to Ring Of Honor and I'm over with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, so I'm really happy there. But as far as if I had to pick, and this is no knock on TNA, but I've said this before, multiple times. If I were to sit here, Steve, and tell you that I don't want to have a WrestleMania moment someday, I'd be lying to you.

I fell in love with pro wrestling because of WWE, so, of course, someday, if I have a chance to go, whatever that timing may be, I think that's something I'd definitely like to do in my career. So yeah, if I had to pick where I'd like to end up, strictly based on what made me a fan of pro wrestling, and where I'd eventually like to end up, it's WWE for me."

Furthermore, he stated that he’d like to perform for NXT as he felt that the brand would help him understand the WWE system . He clarified that he didn’t not want to stay at NXT for his entire career, but he said that it would help him gain confidence.

Speaking about his rivalry with fellow Bullet Club member Omega, he added that a potential match between them might happen sooner rather than later.

"Yeah, that [has] been quite the talked about match lately. Yeah, I definitely think we're at a point now, myself and Kenny, there has been quite a lot of tension both in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring Of Honor and on the Young Bucks' YouTube channel, being The Elite, to where everyone questions 'who is the leader of The Bullet Club?'.

Is it myself? Is it Kenny Omega? To me, it's two alpha males who butt heads and we don't see eye-to-eye all the time, so I certainly think if it's going to be up to me and if it's up to Kenny Omega, sometime probably in the very near future, you're going to see Adam Cole versus Kenny Omega." He also talked about his future goals, stating that his goal is to be the best he possibly can and have a long career. He pointed out that he’s a lot better and happier when focusing on everything one day at a time and does not want to worry about where he’s going to end up or who he’s going to be working for. Cole added that he would accomplished his dreams if he made a good living as a wrestler.

What’s next?

With tensions rising among the members of Bullet Club, particularly the recent tensions with Cole on the one hand and Omega and the Young Bucks on the other, a potential feud between Omega and Cole may on the cards in the weeks to come.

Author’s take

Cole is one of the best performers right now and let’s face it, he’ll end up working for WWE sooner rather than later. He’s a legit talent and is just entering his prime at 27 years of age. Truth be told, with all the goof-ups with Impact Wrestling’s new ownership and everything, I genuinely hope a fresh talent like Cole doesn’t sign with ‘The Owl’, if you know what I mean.

As for WWE, if they can sign Bobby Roode and Austin freakin’ Aries, they can most definitely give ‘The Panama City Playboy’ Adam Cole a chance to prove his mettle.
